Tbilisi School Eruditi Civic Club Initiative for Barisakho Boarding Center Children

On December 4th 2012 Tbilisi School “Eruditi” Civic Club Members, “Green School” Civic Club two Representatives, “Eruditi” School Director Ketevan Januashvili, Club Leader Teacher Mariam Lomidze and two Parents Arsen Gvenetadze and Nino Sarjveladze (total 25 people) in frame of Applied Civic Education and Teacher Training Program Civic Initiative visited Barisakho School and Boarding Center for Children. The Initiative aimed at Assistance and Facilitation to Social Integration of Barisakho Children and Youth (53). The Club members carried out preliminary need research of Barisakho Children. In order to meet their needs, the Club Students held an Outreach Event at Erudite School (information on the event was posted in Social Media – Club Facebook webpage), collected warm clothing, shoes, foodstuff, raised money to purchase school maps and at Barisakho Visit disbursed the Gifts to the Children. Moreover, Eruditi Civic Club student active parent Mr. Arsen Gvenetadze handed over to Barisakho Children famous traveler Jumber Lejava maps. 
 
The Civic Club Students delivered training to Barisahko peers: “Participation Ladder”, set up “Karneg Book” discussion, created “the Wish Tree”, which enabled them to learn more about the needs of the Children and set forth the future plans for Assistance to Barisahko Children. The hosts performed songs and dances to the guests. Transportation for the Visit was supported through the Civic Education Program Civic Initiative Funds.
