Civil education has an important place in the general education system of Georgia. This relatively new subject, included in the national curriculum since 2006, firstly aroused the interest of students and increased motivation.
The goal of civic education as a discipline is to promote the education of an informed, active and responsible citizen at all levels of general education. In addition, the teaching of the mentioned subject is of crucial importance for the formation of the student’s civic competence and the establishment of civil culture in the society.
In 2016, the National Curriculum Plan for the 2018-2024 academic years (primary level) was approved by Order No. 40/N of the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia.
