On February 19-23, 2016 mentorship camp for civics teachers was held in Ikalto, Kakheti region. Camp aimed to support professional development of civics teachers, promote use of MT civics supplemental textbooks, provide instruction to teachers on the development of lesson plans and facilitate sharing of the best practices among civics teachers from different regions of Georgia.
Regional implementing partners of MT project also took part in a camp and facilitated activities of teachers. Author a civics supplemental textbook “Participation in School Self-Governance, Aluda Goglichidze visited a camp as a guest speaker and spoke with teachers about the importance of the development of democratic Governance at school.
Guest emphasized the role of school administration;s support for the improving the quality of school-based civic education. All teachers received certificates of participation upon the completion of the training camp.
Mentorship Camp for Civics Teachers was orginized by USAID-funded Momavlis Taoba Project, which is implemented by PH International.
