On October 2, 2015 in Kutaisi Georgian- American Library final event of the contest “Letters to Our Abkhazian peers” was held. 18 semi-finalists from Imereti region partner schools of MT program read their compositions.
Members of the jury were: Tsira Kurashvili, writer; Tsiala Kopaliani, journalist; Zaza Chachava, Head of Abkhazian Autonomous republic representation in Imereti region. Jury nominated three students, authors of the best compositions.
“We heard a lot of interesting ideas from the students; I think we have to promote youth to highlight their position concerning the conflict. This event is foundation of the similar activities but more wide.
I am sure we can learn a lot of interesting from the young people which will be generated into the politics “ –said Zaza Chachava, member of the ury. The audio versions of the selected compositions will be sent to the young people in Abkhazia. In total 35 students took part in the contest.
