On November 13, 2015 MT partner schools from Adjara region organized a conference on early marriage, which took place at Batumi City Council. The goal of the conference was to increase awareness of youth about negative consequences on early marriage a problem that is critical for Adjara region.

Tamila Dolidze, a head of the Gender Media Center facilitated the conference. Psychologist also participated in the conference and spoke about psychological trauma caused by early marriage and ways of its prevention.

Students showed video interviews of local community members about early marriage, also presented their essays about the topic, took part in the discussion and highlighted the negative aspects of early marriage, widespread violence against women and more need for human rights protection. At the end of the conference participants decided to prepare a social advertisement aiming to increase public awareness about negative consequences of early marriage.

Video will be shared through social media. Up to 70 individuals took part in the conference, including students, teachers, school administration officials and representatives from local Government, NGOs and the community. Conference was covered by media. The conference was organized in the framework of USAID-funded Momavlis Taoba Project, which is implemented by PH International.
