On March 18, the Model Lesson in 10th grade in civics was held at Armenian-sector Eshtia public school №2 of Samtskhe-Javakheti region. During the model lesson, civics supplemental textbook “Cooperation for Social Benefit, created as part of the Momavlis Taoba Project was used.
Audience included 20 civics teachers from the different partner schools of Momavlis Taoba (MT) project, representatives of the Civics Teacher Forum, MT project and MT;s partner NGOs. The lesson mostly included interactive activities: while working in groups the students identified the ways of cooperation; they talked about the results of good cooperation with various organizations; the students brought the examples of cooperation with school administration and community members within MT program.
During the lesson the students also discussed a mini-grant project implemented by them, which resulted in the rehabilitation of school entrance door. Ethnic Arminian students made presentations in Georgian language and the lesson was held bilingual in Georgian and Arminian languages.
Civics model lessons were organized by Civics Teachers Forum in all 11 regions of Georgia in the framework of USAID-funded Momavlis Taoba Project, which is implemented by PH International.
