Members of school based civic clubs of Tbilisi met at the Tbilisi Youth House to discuss their civic involvement through various Momavlis Taoba projects. They spoke about their experience, recounting challenges they have faced in garnering support and reflecting on the impact civic education has had in their lives.

Claudia Rodriguez from U.S. – a second-year student from a small liberal arts college working as an intern for PH International – led the discussion among students, who spoke enthusiastically about their recent projects and future objectives.

Some of the questions or topics addressed during the meeting included the meaning of being an active citizen, the importance of civic education, and the ability to recognize and solve existing community problems. “I may be only 15 years old, but I can say that I have made visible changes already, after finishing school, we will be more prepared to solve social problems.

I think that in the future we will manage to change the country for better, said civics student Nika. Later on during meeting, students spoke about the influence and role “Momavlis Taoba project has played in their lives. Anna spoke about the psychological responsibility active civics students must bear: “Its kind of a big pressure for us. But after making a change, you feel very proud of yourself; you feel happy and excited knowing you were the one to do it.Towards the end of the meeting, several students among the group were asked to send out a letter to other boys and girls in Georgia to call for more civic actions.
