Students of Zestaponi Municipality’s Alaverdi village public school, initiated arrangement of a civics class room in their school. The students shared the project goal with parents and community members and managed to mobilize them to take an active part in the project.
One of the community members, a representative of private business and graduate of their school, allocated 1500 Georgian Lari for construction materials. Parents and community members took an active part in renovation works.
As the result of the students’ efforts, the mini-grant project was successfully implemented and the civics class room was arranged at the school. “This space would be the place for our students to plan and conduct civics activities for the school’s and community’s benefit,” said Zaal Skhiladze, Civics teacher of Alaverdi school.
The initiative was supported by the mini-grant as part of the USAID-funded Momavlis Taoba Project, which is implemented by PH International.
