Students of Azeri school in the village of Karataklia, Bolnisi municipality organized the evening of Georgian poetry. The goal of this initiative was to promote learning of the state language among ethnic minorities.
Students decided to enrich the school library with books of Georgian literature, poetry and dictionaries. They gained support from school administration and local government.
In addition, a civics teacher from Rustavi school supported students and provided bookshelves and books for the library. During the event students red Georgian poems, this was accompanied by music and a slideshow.
Students painted pictures from the stories in books. Event was attended by school administration, local government, teachers and students from other schools and community members. Students mentioned that school library can be used by Azeri community in the village. The event was supported by mini-grant project in the framework of USAID-funded Momavlis Taoba Program, which is implemented by PH International.
