From May 23 through June 16, Civic Education Teachers’ Forum organized sessions for “Professional Learning Communities” in all 11 regions of Georgia. “Professional Learning Communities” were initiated to help civics teachers share the dilemmas from their teaching practice with colleagues and seek solutions together.
A total 144 civics teachers participated in 22 sessions of “Professional Learning Communities” nationwide. Prior to initiating these sessions, regional coordinators of the Civic Education Teachers’ Forum were trained and prepared as facilitators.
The methodology of “Critical Friends’ Communities” was introduced through the use of masterclasses in Georgia earlier by American civic education trainers. Sessions were organized in the framework of USAID-funded Momavlis Taoba Program, which is implemented by PH International.
