In the framework of USAID-funded civic education “Momavlis Taoba program, school-based civics club members of the village Leghvani public school in Kharagauli municipality decided to support students with special needs to get vocational education. There are 6 students with special needs at school, which wont be able to get professional education because of the remote location of the village.
“Our goal was to launch sewing classes at school for these students. However, we did not have a sewing machine. So, we decided to use social media to find resources. We wrote a post on the Facebook and one kind citizen presented a new sewing machine. Her support is appreciated, she made the idea come true “-said Tamar Shatirishvili, civics club leader. The civics club members with the support of “Momavlis Taoba program purchased the necessary materials for the sewing classes, which are led by a special teacher of the school for free. The classes are held with great interest and fun.
