Civics club members of village Benari public school in Adigeni municipality decided to improve ecological conditions in 5 villages along the river Otskhe gorge. The banner calling to protect the environment was placed in Adigeni – Abastumani crossroad.
The meeting with representatives of the community, local government, media and environmental protection representatives was held. Club members organized photo exhibition to demonstrate existing situation, cleaned the nearby territory of the river Otskhe, prepared informational brochures and distributed among the population.
Civics club members requested Adigeni City Hall to place additional garbage cans in specific locations, which will contribute replacement of existing man-made landfills.The initiative was conducted in the framework of USAID funded “Momovlis Taoba program.
