Students of village Merjevi public school in Sachkhere municipality conducted a seminar for their peers on “Early Marriages, Issues and Related Problems”. They talked about early marriage statistics in Georgia and discussed a special report prepared by the Public Defender’s Office of Georgia “Early Marriages, Challenges and Solutions”.
Tamar Shaorshadze, 9th grade student: “Early marriage is connected with many challenges. Majority of the families created during early ages have difficulties to sustain a union as couple, due to their mental and physical reediness.
Young person does not have an opportunity to receive an education and remains without a profession, hence encounters economic problems.
