Students, teachers and principals of 11 schools across Georgia shared with the attendees the initiatives implemented by student self-governments that helped create democratic culture at their schools. The forum was opened by USAID Civic Education Program Chief of Party Marina Ushveridze. In addition, Head of General Education Management and Development Department at MES Lali Kalandadze and Deputy Director of the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement Kakhaber Eradze also gave speeches at the event.

The first session of the forum – the role of student self-governments in school management – was facilitated by Nikoloz Silagadze, MES expert in the development of national curriculum. The second session – School projects in support of student self-governments – was facilitated by Manana Jintcharadze, consultant for Innovative Education Program at National Centre for Teachers’ Professional Development. Over 800 people from all over Georgia attended the event online.
