May 26, Oliver Reisner, Jean Monnet Professor in European & Caucasian Studies at Ilia State University held a live meeting with students from Samtskhe-Javakheti region. The event was dedicated to the Independence Day of Georgia.Participants of the meeting, students and teachers from MT Partner School in Samtskhe-Javakheti region had an opportunity to gain further knowledge about the history of declaration of independence, cooperation and support provided by democratic countries; and talked about the first republic of Georgia of 1918.
This information will educate the students, ignite feelings of patriotism in the younger generation and help them understand the value of freedom. Following the event, the students are better equipped to organize information campaigns, prepare presentations and posters, share them online to increase peers awareness about the important facts from the history of Independences of Georgia.
The conference was aired via Facebook live and more than 80 participants attended the meeting.
