Civics club students of the village Gamarjveba public school in Dedoplistskaro municipality conducted an advocacy campaign on opening a pharmacy in the village. The absence of a pharmacy was the mostly named problem during a community survey conducted by the students.

The village is located 12 km away from the regional center. The absence of a pharmacy in the village creates difficulties to get medicines for the population, especially for the elderly people. The students applied to the representatives of the local government and introduced the statistical data collected by them – how many elderly people live in the village and how many people remain without frequent medication due to the lack of pharmacy.

The statement was accompanied by collected signatures in the population. The members of the club hope for a positive response and believe that once a pharmacy is opened in the village, the population will save their time and money, avoid long distance travel and most importantly get the necessary medicines in time.
